Katherine Heigl has opened up about growing up within "a White bubble." She also explains how this experience has affected her parenting of adoptees who are multi-racial. In an interview, she said in the past that in terms of skin color, it doesn't really matter. However, after talking to her sister who is adopted by South Korea she realized just the way society views the children. I inquired of Meg whether, while going out with her parents she got a particular treatment but when she was on her own, she received a different kind of treatment. Meg replied, "Oh, yes, every time!' That made me realize that I was so ignorant," Heigl said to Parents. Her anger grew by the incident, and decided to make use of her anger to help her adopted daughters. Heigl as well as her husband of 13 years -- the musician Josh Kelley -- have an infant son, aged 4 years old.
