Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci was born on the 12th of November, 1961 within Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast and she holds the record for being given 10/10 points in an Olympic competition. Bela Karalyi was introduced to Comaneci at age six. Later, she would be Romania's gymnastics coach. Her first competition was at the national junior championships in 1969 and finished 13th. She was the winner in the year 1970. At her first international meet, which was an Olympic-style junior preolympic competition that was open to countries of the communist bloc, she took home three gold medals. In 1973 and 1975, she won awarded the All-around Junior Champion. The athlete won four golds and one silver medals in her debut competition as a senior, held in 1975. This was the first time she participated as an older senior. She won the American Cup in New York City in 1976, becoming the first female to do a backward double salto as an unmounting from uneven bars that are parallel. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was in her teens she was performing on travelling shows such as Ice Capades as a skater alongside her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on 6th September, 1942 in Chicago Illinois. Carol ventured into the entertainment industry during her teenage years. Her first job was as a figure skater performing with her sibling Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show named Ice Capades. The shows featured ice skating which included stage performances.
